It has been 5 months since the 2022 Honda HR-V made its Philippine debut. With only the S and V variants available at the time, a lot were wondering what happened to the HR-V RS. A lot of fans of the crossover had hoped that it will make an eventual comeback, and they were right. Today at PIMS 2022, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. unveiled the all-new HR-V RS for all to see.
Range-topping Honda HR-V RS makes its PH debut
The 2022 HR-V RS is a far cry from its more docile counterparts. Compared to the more subdued S and V variants, the features an exterior design that is finished with a Sporty Chrome Front Grille and RS Emblem with Red Amp-Up Logo on the lower bumper. It also gets a new set of 18″ RS design gray alloy wheels, and for the first time since its introduction, LED sequential turn signal.
A lot of simple but well-thought-of design cues add to a more aggressive look as well such as a smoked LED light bar, a glossy black finish on the bumper, a side sill garnish with chrome, paired up with a side sill garnish that’s also finished in glossy black.
Inside, you’ll easily find a lot more of the sportier RS pieces such as the signature sporty design shown by sport pedals, shift knobs, and leather interior upholstery with red stitching. Comfort and convenience are likewise upgraded with an 8-speaker sound system, auto up/down power window for driver and passenger side, 8-way Power Driver Seat, and dual-zone climate control. Lastly, featuring a versatile and spacious interior, the all-new HR-V RS highlights its clutter-free design, ULT seats, and additional storage space for all-around convenience.
Powering the HR-V RS is a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine that puts out 177 PS and 240 Nm of torque. Like the S and V variants, the engine is paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that achieves powerful acceleration and excellent NVH.
But perhaps its biggest and most important feature is the inclusion of the Honda Sensing safety suite. It includes safety features such as Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW), Auto High-Beam (AHB), and Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN) on top of a long list of standard safety features.
The Honda HR-V RS is now available in all dealerships across the country. It comes in 3 colors, namely Ignite Red Metallic (RS variant image color), Crystal Black Pearl (exclusive for RS variant only), and Premium Opal White Silver Pearl for an additional PHP 20,000. The HR-V RS is priced at PHP 1,739,000.
