Hyundai Motor Company announced today the release of upgraded versions of its popular IONIQ 5 electric vehicle (EV) lineup, including an enhanced IONIQ 5 and a new IONIQ 5 N Line. These updates bring product enhancements, innovative features, and design upgrades to the award-winning EV range.

The enhanced IONIQ 5 focuses on maintaining its global competitiveness by improving specifications and incorporating new technologies to enhance consumer satisfaction. Key upgrades include an increased battery capacity, now at 84.0 kWh from the previous 77.4 kWh, boosting its all-electric range.
Exterior enhancements feature a refined V-shape garnish and restyled front and rear bumpers, highlighting the SUV’s low and wide stance. The vehicle’s length has increased by 20 mm, while other dimensions remain unchanged. Aerodynamic improvements include an extended rear spoiler and new aerodynamic wheels.
Inside, usability and convenience are improved with a redesigned center console featuring physical buttons for frequently used functions, repositioned wireless charging pads, and a new steering wheel design with interactive pixel lights. An upgraded infotainment system called connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) and wireless Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates further enhance the user experience.
Safety and convenience features have been expanded, including Hands-On Detection (HOD) steering wheel, Lane Keeping Assist 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2), and Forward/Side/Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA-F/S/R).
Additional features such as Intelligent Front-Lighting System (IFS), Digital Key 2, Built-In Cam 2, and second-row seat remote folding have been included to cater to customer preferences.
In terms of ride comfort and safety, enhancements have been made to reduce vibrations, improve stability, and reinforce collision protection.
The sporty IONIQ 5 N Line joins the lineup, positioned between the base model and the high-performance IONIQ 5 N. Sporting a more aggressive design, unique bumpers, 20-inch aluminum wheels, and an exclusive interior, the N Line variant targets customers seeking a dynamic driving experience.
Both the enhanced IONIQ 5 and the new IONIQ 5 N Line will be available for Korean customers starting March 2024, with plans for a gradual global rollout throughout the year.
