After months of speculation and teasers, Mitsubishi has finally (and officially) launched the all-new Triton (Strada) in Thailand. This latest 6th generation is the first all-new and fully redesigned pick-up in 9 years.

The new main upgrades include an-all new design language, a cleaner and better-performing diesel engine, and a new platform with reworked suspension.
Starting with the design, the all-new Triton embodies what the brand calls the “Beast Mode” design which is supposed to showcase and explore the spirit of wild and audacious intensity. The front fascia has a reworked Dynamic Shield design and looks very aggressive and vertical at the same time. It has more sculpted lines at the side and a tweaked rear design which is also familiar to the previous generation.
The new ladder frame platform of the Triton is built with 60 percent higher torsional rigidity and 40 percent higher bending rigidity. Upfront it uses a double wishbone independent suspension system, while the rear has leaf springs and thicker shock absorbers, It still retains drum brakes for the front and rear but the steering system is now electric.
The interior is where Mitsubishi really changed a lot of things, the brand focused on improving shoulder and knee room. As a result, there are a plethora of storage options inside the vehicle such as a floor console box and upper glove box. The driver gets a 7-inch multi-informational display while at the center is a 9-inch infotainment screen that has a 360-degree camera function, smartphone connectivity, and mirroring, and also the Mitsubishi Connected Services which allows owners to control the vehicle from the smartphone.
Under the hood is the 2.4-liter clean diesel MIVEC engine (4N16) that comes in three power outputs, 150 horsepower and 330 Nm, 184 horsepower and 430 Nm, and 204 horsepower and 470 Nm. It is mated to a shift-by-wire 6-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual. It also features the Super Select 4WD-II system which enables owners to seamlessly shift between 4WD and 2WD, and there is also a central locking differential, while traction can be split as much as 40 percent to the front or 60 percent to the rear thanks to a torque-sensing limited-slip differential. It also comes with seven selectable drive modes (Normal, Eco, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Rock) and Active Yaw Control.
Safety-wise, the all-new Triton comes with Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing (MMSS) with features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Automatic High Beam, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Mitigation, and more.
The all-new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton (Strada) will first be sold in Thailand and is confirmed to make its way to other ASEAN countries in the following months.
