Every pickup truck lover knows of the Isuzu D-Max, right? Aside from its “bulletproof” engine (well, because #Isuzu), it can definitely hold its own both on and off the road. This model has seen and has been given so much love that even special and limited editions were released (see the Boondock and X-Series). Isuzu’s not about to stop the trend because we have a new one just around the corner.

We did say “teaser”, right? In a video posted by Isuzu Philippines, we get the first glimpse of the D-Max Limited. We can’t say with 100% certainty that it won’t have a nickname, but we’re quite sure that it will. Focused mainly on its exterior, the specimen that we see here is finished in black, complete with decals and graphics, and a whole lot of red accent pieces.
For starters, the “ISUZU” badge on the grill and the front end of the skid plate get the scarlet treatment.

The side of the D-Max Limited is pretty much more subdued, with the white-font “Limited” sticker bordered in red and the aforementioned decals in gray. The wheels also get murdered out, all (of what we can safely assume are) 17″ of it and shod in Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tires. The stepsills are also finished in black and gray, a very nice touch to eliminate what would otherwise be a drab side profile.

As for the rear, you’ll forgive us if we say that the red pieces that border the centerpiece of the tailgate could’ve been done without. The same “Limited” and graphic decals also make their way to the rear, but if you look at that photo right above, we’re not sure if that red accent does a lot of good. Maybe we’ll have to wait to see the D-Max Limited in the metal to know if it’s good or an eyesore.

It’s safe to assume that the 4JJ3 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine will be sitting under the D-Max Limited’s hood, given the badge at the rear. This particular power plant puts out about 190 HP and 450 Nm of pull, both part of what makes the D-Max such a great draw for pickup buyers. It may also be safe to assume that it will be coming with an automatic transmission, but we won’t rule out the possibility of it coming with a manual, either.
“Coming soon at a dealer near you” isn’t much to go by, but the fact that a “new” D-Max is coming is good enough news for us. We’ll just have to wait for the final word as to when it will be released, but knowing Isuzu PH, they won’t post teasers too far from their intended launch date.
