Mazda North American Operations has unveiled the 2025 Mazda CX-70, marking its debut in this category. Boasting Mazda’s cutting-edge powertrains for responsive and electrified performance, the CX-70 offers intuitive handling for a captivating driving experience, whether navigating city streets or participating in lifestyle activities.
Designed with the driver in mind, the CX-70 emphasizes exceptional driving dynamics, a blend of elegant and sporty design elements, and a focus on providing ample cabin and cargo space to inspire owners to pursue their passions. The CX-70, built on Mazda’s large platform, has been purposefully engineered with electrification in mind, offering customers a choice between an e-SkyActiv G 3.3L Inline 6 Turbo engine with M-Hybrid Boost making 280 hp and 450 Nm of torque for the base option and a 340 hp and 500 Nm for the higher-tiered engine. Customers looking for added performance and efficiency could also opt for the 2.5-liter four-cylinder e-SkyActiv G PHEV, which makes 323 hp and 400 Nm of torque.
The CX-70’s design is a standout feature, showcasing a modern and sporty aesthetic with a broad and low front fascia, chiseled front end, and distinctive black accents throughout the exterior. The interior is equally impressive, with a spacious yet intimate feel, a diverse color palette, and high-quality materials, creating a timeless and sporty ambiance. The inclusion of red Nappa leather with red stitch detailing adds a sporty touch inspired by the 100th Anniversary Special Edition MX-5.
Functionality meets style in the CX-70, introducing new features to enhance everyday utility and promote engagement with active lifestyles. Notable additions include remote-folding rear seats for more effortless loading, an optimized rear cargo area with extra compartments and hooks, and a unique sub-trunk design for discreet storage of valuables.
Incorporating advanced assistance technologies, the CX-70 introduces Unresponsive Driver Support as an enhancement to Cruising & Traffic Support, automatically decelerating and stopping the vehicle in emergency situations where the driver is unresponsive. Furthermore, the integration of Alexa allows for hands-free commands, reducing driver distraction and enhancing ease of use.
Mazda’s purposeful design approach elevates the CX-70 to a higher standard in the crossover category, but the real question now is, will Mazda Philippines bring this model in, or will it just be confined to the North American market? Only time will tell.
