It’s been a while since there’s been any buzz surrounding the Mitsubishi Strada, not for anything but maybe it’s because it’s been in the market for quite some time now.
The brand though in the past few weeks has been reiterating its commitment to the Strada nameplate, and now more concrete proof of that commitment has just been shown to the public.
Mitsubishi XRT Concept
Reports point out that before 2023 ends the all-new Strada will make its global debut in Thailand and will begin its campaign to the rest of ASEAN in early 2024.
What is present in the meantime is the XRT Concept which was previewed earlier in Thailand, it’s obviously camouflaged but we can already see some key elements that will hopefully make it to the 2024 Stara’s official design. The front fascia is now a more upright but striking version of the Dynamic Sheild design, while the hood also carries a more bulge-like design to accentuate the ruggedness more.
Furthermore, the XRT concept is equipped with bigger front and rear over fenders as well as chunky mud-terrain tires. The camouflage actually takes inspiration from lava rocks and the side even features the signature Ralliart lines just to drive home the point that the Strada is a rally-bred pickup through and through.
No other details have been confirmed as to what specifications the all-new Strada is packing but rumors have been swirling about an electrified hybrid powertrain. According to the brand though, their extensive rally racing will allow them to transfer key learnings and technology to the road-going version of the Strada.
