Monterey Car Week 2024: Mercedes-Maybach unveils SL Monogram Series
The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series is set to redefine luxury sports cars with its unique combination of dynamic performance and exquisite design. This model, characterized by its impressive specifications and attention to detail, is the sportiest in the Maybach lineup.

PerformanceÂ
The SL 680 Monogram Series boasts a V8 engine with a displacement of 3,982 cm³, delivering 585 hp and a torque of 800 Nm. The vehicle can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 260 km/h. It features a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and a fully variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system, ensuring optimal traction and driving safety even in challenging conditions. The car’s dimensions are 4,705 mm in length, 1,353 mm in height, and 1,915 mm in width, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.
Design and Craftsmanship
The SL 680 Monogram Series is available in two curated design concepts: Red Ambience and White Ambience. The Red Ambience features a two-tone paint finish of obsidian black metallic over MANUFAKTUR garnet red metallic, while the White Ambience contrasts obsidian black metallic with MANUFAKTUR opalite white magno. Customers can also request other exterior colors.
The interior is adorned with sustainably tanned, crystal white MANUFAKTUR Exclusive nappa leather, complemented by silver chrome trim parts. The car features Maybach-specific equipment, including comfort seats with a new floral design and a fully digital instrument display with unique start-up animations and display styles. The steering wheel, stainless-steel pedals, and door sill trims further enhance the luxurious feel.
ExteriorÂ
The exterior of the SL 680 Monogram Series is designed to provide a cohesive and elegant look. It features a chrome-finished radiator grille with illuminated contours and MAYBACH lettering, an upright Mercedes star on the bonnet, and 21-inch forged wheels. The acoustic soft top, made of light black fabric with the Maybach pattern, adds to the vehicle’s sophisticated appearance.
Driving Experience
The SL 680 Monogram Series offers a quiet and comfortable driving experience, thanks to a noise-optimized exhaust system, extensive insulation, and a comfort-oriented suspension setup. The combination of the powerful V8 engine and smooth-shifting transmission ensures a dynamic driving experience.
Market Launch
The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series will debut in Europe in spring 2025, with other markets to follow. MAYBACH Icons of Luxury will offer a curated collection of luxury items inspired by the new model, including a leather jacket, sneakers, a scarf, a tote bag, and a dog bag.
