PIMS 2024 saw Honda’s official launch of the new and hybrid-powered Civic RS e:HEV in the PH. Barely a month since it was teased to the motoring public, the electrified RS has officially joined the hybrid lineup of Honda in the country and, as they say, “rings in a new chapter for HCPI as they officially mark the beginning of bringing in more hybrid models to the Philippines”.
In its bid to redefine “sporty DNA”, Honda has taken the Civic RS on an electric route furthering its already rich and timeless nameplate. Aside from the new powerplant, it comes with Honda CONNECT plus some additional tech and safety features including parking sensors, Type C USB ports, a camera with a wider view, and a new 9″ infotainment screen now across all variants.
As a first, it also comes equipped with Google Built-in, allowing users to interact and control their car with voice commands for navigation, car operations, and install a wide variety of third-party apps. According to Honda, “this hands-free way of interacting with the New Civic contributes to Honda’s global safety goal of having a collision-free society, wherein no road accidents will involve any Honda vehicle”.
Along with the release of the RS e:HEV, the Civic lineup also has new pricing and color options available:
Fans of the Honda Civic Type R are also in for a treat at this year’s PIMS. If getting the FL5 hasn’t been difficult enough, it now gets a special and a more exclusive version in the PH to date, the MUGEN Group A. Can we buy it? Yes, but only 5 units will be made available in the country.
There’s also a new Limited Edition variant of the Honda CR-V V Turbo that comes with sporty and practical accessories including an exhaust pipe finisher, a front aero bumper, and a rear under spoiler, while utility accessories include a body cover, seat back protector, a cargo tray, and a door visor.
