The CLA also introduces the fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX). Integrated with AI from Microsoft and Google, MBUX offers personalized interaction and a user-friendly interface. The MBUX Superscreen, powered by high-performance chips and real-time graphics, provides an intuitive display and control system. The MBUX Virtual Assistant, featuring ChatGPT-4o and Google Maps integration, allows for intelligent voice interactions and enhanced navigation capabilities.
Navigation in the CLA is powered by a bespoke Google Maps solution, integrating real-time route guidance with enhanced visual communication through MBUX Surround Navigation. Safety is a priority, with standard features like DISTRONIC Distance Assist and an optional MB.DRIVE ASSIST system includes Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities and Lane Change Assist.

The all-electric CLA boasts a 40% lower carbon footprint than its predecessor. Models include the CLA 250+ with EQ Technology and the CLA 350 4MATIC with EQ Technology. The CLA 250+ offers a range of up to 792 km (WLTP) and supports fast DC charging, gaining up to 325 km in just ten minutes.

A new 800-volt electric architecture enhances charging efficiency, while a two-speed transmission ensures dynamic acceleration and high efficiency at highway speeds. The CLA also introduces an air-to-air heat pump, which improves climate control efficiency by using waste heat from the drivetrain and battery. Oh, and did we mention that this is the first Mercedes EV ever to have a frunk?

Later this year, Mercedes-Benz will launch CLA hybrid models featuring a 48-volt system and an integrated electric motor. These hybrids offer front-wheel and 4MATIC all-wheel drive options available in three power levels. The system enables electric cruising at urban speeds and can recover up to 25 kW of energy through regenerative braking.
The new CLA retains its athletic proportions, featuring a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a distinctive GT-style rear. This model debuts the illuminated seamless star panel grille, with MULTIBEAM LED headlights and star-shaped taillights enhancing its visual appeal.

Inside, the CLA offers a minimalist yet luxurious design. The MBUX Superscreen spans the dashboard, incorporating a 10.25-inch driver display and a 14-inch central touchscreen. A panoramic glass roof, standard across all models, enhances the spacious interior. Sustainable materials, new paint options, and advanced trim elements elevate the overall aesthetic.
As you can see, Mercedes-Benz has pulled out all the stops in terms of technology for the new CLA. As for how it will translate to the road, that’s another question.
